Fletcher "Bee" Miller

Lifelong Beekeeper, Fletcher “Bee” Miller, age 84, passed away December 29, 2007 in Anchorage.  Fletcher is known
as the “Father of Beekeeping” in Alaska.  He was a wealth of knowledge and an avid bee enthusiast. He was
responsible for dozens of “newbees” getting started with beekeeping.  Fletcher, along with his close friend, Tom
Elliott,  foundedCook Inlet Beekeeprs Association and Alaska State Beekeeping Association.  
He taught many beginning and advanced bee classes over the years.  
Everywhere one goes in Alaska they may find someone who will say:
“Yes, I knew Fletcher, he was responsible for me having the bees I keep now.”
He will be missed by many.
